So I was at an intersection near the hospital and the sun was in my eyes and......I almost hit a bunch of pedestrians. Ack! Yikes! Thanks be to God it didn't happen. The annoying thing was that THEY could see I was turning but I couldn't see them as a glare blinded me and I am thankful for good brakes (they actually need some help but they still worked). These pedestrians were appalled at me but in restrospect the situation annoys me in that they just boldly walked out in my path. Do people who just boldly walk into traffic ever think of the effect it will have on the family of the drivers who hit them since the driver will now be in jail or is it just more reasonable to keep boldly walking into the line of traffic? I DID NOT SEE THEM till it was almost too late. Sigh. I SO did not need the added stress. They of course swore at me when I rolled down the window and apologized and told them I didn't see them because of the glare. Now I am skittish and a little scatter brained. Oh well. I consider the editorial route but people would just rip me a new one since I am the driver and they were pedestrians. WHen I have my children at an intersection I make sure the road is completely clear and unquestionably safe before I cross a road but I guess when adults cross the road they hold a different view.

That happened to me once on a country road. I just could-not-see for the sun and no amount of ducking I did or putting my hand over my eyes helped. I almost took out an older man getting his mail and I still have flashbacks about it.
It certainly will make me even MORE cautious than I was before. I'm hoping for no flashbacks. I just am thinking it over a lot at this point.
You should have seen what I did today... I must have jinxed myself writing that. At least it was another one avoided!
Ugh, didn't mean to give you the jitters. I was thinking of you yesterday afternoon as my kids have taken to watching the old Pooh Bear video about the Blustery Day and Piglet signs his name "Me". Could that be the reason that is your signiture? Just curious.l
No actually when I was doing loopers someone said to not put your name on the blog and my last name was in the title so I did away with it all. It would not be hard for someone to figure it out though. :P My seven year old daughters nickname has always been Pooh Bear.
You didn't give me the jitters :D I was driving downtown looking for a parking lot. When it wasn't where I thought they said it was I was flustered and afraid I would be late. Then the kids started chattering. I turned on what I THOUGHT was a one way only to be facing oncoming traffic. I got out of it in plenty of time but it was freaky. I IMMEDIATELY thought of our talk on here!!
Kids chattering will do it every time. Scary thought really. I was actually driving with my 17 yo and 4 week old when this happened to me and yes, I was chatting with dd. Sigh.
Thanks for the name explanation. Makes sense. I've contemplated going back to Loopers and following it but the time issue stands in the way. Blogs are easier to me for some reason.
